2006 Toyota Hilux Coolant

Coolant is absolutely relevant and used on the 2006 Toyota Hilux. The N70-series Hilux engines (including 1KD-FTV and 2KD-FTV diesels, plus 2TR-FE and 1GR-FE petrols) are liquid-cooled and require engine coolant as specified in the Toyota Hilux Owner’s Manual (2005–2011), Toyota workshop manuals, and Toyota Genuine Coolant product data. These technical sources specify an ethylene-glycol, silicate-free coolant—most commonly Toyota Genuine Super Long Life Coolant (SLLC, pink) in this era.

That protection keeps head gaskets happy, heater cores flowing, and radiators clear—key for long hauls, towing, and hot Aussie and Kiwi summers.

Most 2006 Hilux models were factory-filled with Toyota SLLC (pink), a pre-mixed 50/50 phosphate-OAT coolant. Technical service information sets long service life for SLLC: typically first replacement at around 160,000 km or up to 10 years, then about every 80,000 km or 5 years thereafter.
