2006 Toyota Aurion brake wheel cylinders — are they actually used?
Short answer: no. The 2006 Toyota Aurion (GSV40R) doesn’t use brake wheel cylinders because it runs disc brakes at all four corners. In this setup, hydraulic pressure works the brake calipers, not wheel cylinders. Wheel cylinders are a drum-brake component, and the Aurion’s service brakes are discs front and rear.
This is backed up by technical references: Toyota’s New Car Features manual for the GSV40/41 Aurion describes a four-wheel disc system with a drum-in-disc style parking brake
