2006 Mazda CX-7 headlights
Headlights are absolutely fitted to the 2006 Mazda CX-7. This is confirmed by the Mazda CX-7 Owner’s Manual and Workshop Manual lighting sections for that model year, and by local lighting regulations such as ADR 13/00 (Australia) and the NZTA Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting 2004, which require compliant dipped and main-beam headlamps on road vehicles.
The 2006 Mazda CX-7’s headlights do the heavy lifting after dark and in poor weather, helping the driver see the road and making the CX-7 clearly visible to everyone else. From factory, most CX-7s use halogen bulbs (commonly H11 for low beam and HB3/9005 for high beam), while some higher-spec variants are fitted with HID/Xenon low beams (typically D2S) with auto-levelling. Beam patterns are designed to meet ADR/NZ requirements, so correct aim and the right bulb type matter for safety and legality.
As part of regular servicing, it’s wise to give the headlights a quick once-over. Look for yellowing or haze on the lenses, condensation inside the housings, stone chips, and any wiring or connector damage. If bulbs are dim, flickering, or look blackened, replace them in pairs so brightness stays even left-to-right. For halogen bulbs, avoid touching the glass—skin oils can shorten bulb life. If the vehicle has HID low beams, remember they run high voltage
