2006 Honda Elysion manifold gasket — what it does and when to replace it

Based on Honda’s technical material — namely the Honda Electronic Parts Catalogue (EPC) for RR1–RR4 models and the factory service manual engine sections for K24A (2.4-litre) and J30A (3.0-litre) engines — the 2006 Honda Elysion is fitted with manifold gaskets. Both intake manifold gaskets and exhaust manifold gaskets are specified service parts for these engines, so the part is absolutely relevant to this vehicle.

The manifold gasket’s job is simple but crucial: it seals the join between the manifold and the cylinder head. On the intake side, the gasket keeps unmetered air out so the engine doesn’t run lean, idle rough, or throw fuel-trim faults. On the exhaust side, it stops hot gases escaping at the head, preventing ticking noises, fumes in the cabin, and potential damage to nearby components. The V6 Elysion uses a pair of exhaust manifold gaskets (one per bank), while the four-cylinder has one.

There’s no fixed service interval for manifold gaskets
