Technical sources, including the 2005 Honda Civic Service Manual (Helm) and Honda’s electronic parts catalogue, confirm that every 2005 Honda Civic variant is fitted with a thermostat housing. It’s a small but vital alloy/composite assembly that bolts to the engine and encloses the thermostat, providing a sealed pathway for coolant between the engine, radiator and heater core. Many models also use the housing as the mounting point for a coolant temperature sensor and a bleed port.
