Parts for your 2003 Toyota Kluger-Radiator

2003 Toyota Kluger Radiator — Purpose, Care, and Replacement Tips

A radiator is absolutely fitted and relevant on the 2003 Toyota Kluger (ACU20/MCU28). Toyota’s Electronic Parts Catalogue lists a radiator assembly for these models, the factory Repair Manual details radiator service and bleeding procedures, and the 2003 Owner’s Manual specifies engine coolant checks and change intervals. Those technical sources make it clear: the Kluger’s petrol engines are liquid‑cooled and rely on a front‑mounted radiator.

On this Kluger, the radiator’s job is to dump engine heat into the air as coolant circulates through its core. That keeps operating temperatures in the sweet spot, protects the head gasket, and stabilises performance on hot days, towing, or slogging up hills. Most automatic models also route transmission fluid through an internal cooler in the radiator end tank, helping keep the auto’s shifts crisp and extending transmission life.

As part of regular servicing, the radiator shouldn’t be ignored. Owners should use the correct Toyota coolant (Red LLC concentrate mixed 50/50 with demineralised water, or Pink Super Long Life Coolant that comes premixed), as specified under the bonnet and in the service guide. Change intervals vary by coolant type and service conditions, so following the vehicle’s schedule is the safest bet. When replacing coolant, bleeding air is essential: run the engine with the heater on, top up the reservoir as bubbles clear, and fit the cap once the level stabilises.

When it’s time to replace the radiator, quality matters. For autos, cap the ATF lines during the swap and inspect fluid condition
