2002 Nissan Serena Headlights
Headlights are absolutely fitted to the 2002 Nissan Serena (C24) and are essential equipment for road use. Technical references such as the Nissan Serena C24 Series Service Manual (Lighting System section) and the market owner’s manual specify left and right headlamp units with replaceable bulbs, typically 12V 60/55W halogen H4 on most trims, with some grades offering discharge (HID) lamps using D2R bulbs. Road standards like Australian Design Rules (ADR 13/00 and 46/00) and New Zealand WOF/CoF inspection requirements also mandate compliant, working headlights, so they’re very much relevant to this model.
On a 2002 Serena, the headlights do the heavy lifting after dark and in poor weather—projecting a clear low beam for everyday driving and a high beam for open-road visibility. Clean lenses and correct aim make a huge difference to safety for the driver and everyone else on Aussie and Kiwi roads.
For regular servicing, a quick headlight check belongs on the list. Most C24s use halogen reflector units: bulbs are accessed from the rear of the headlamp under the bonnet. Pull off the rubber dust cap, unplug the connector, unclip the spring retainer, and remove the bulb. Avoid touching the glass—skin oils can shorten bulb life. If the vehicle has factory HID (D2R), never open the ballast or power the system disconnected
