2000 Nissan Pulsar Wheel Hubs

Technical references confirm wheel hubs are absolutely used on the 2000 Nissan Pulsar. The Nissan Pulsar Factory Service Manuals for N15 and early N16 models (Front Axle/Suspension and Rear Axle sections), the Nissan FAST parts catalogue, and common AU/NZ aftermarket listings (Repco, Timken, NSK/NTN) all show a front hub flange with a pressed-in bearing, and a rear hub assembly with an integrated bearing for drum or disc rear ends. So, yes—wheel hubs are relevant and fitted to this vehicle.

On a 2000 Pulsar, the wheel hub is the bit the wheel bolts to, sitting between the brake rotor or drum and the bearing/knuckle. It carries the wheel studs, supports vehicle load through the bearing, and, on ABS-equipped cars, provides the tone ring or encoder for the wheel speed sensor. In the front, the Pulsar typically uses a separate hub flange with a double-row bearing pressed into the steering knuckle. In the rear, most AU/NZ variants use a bolt-on hub assembly with an integrated bearing, whether drum or disc.

Because the bearings are sealed, there’s no scheduled greasing—maintenance is all about inspection. During regular services or before a roadworthy/WOF, check for:

  • Growling or humming that rises with road speed
  • Play when rocking the tyre at 12 and 6 o’clock
  • ABS warning light or erratic ABS operation
  • Heat at the hub after a drive or uneven tyre wear

Replacement advice is straightforward. Front hubs require a press and proper support of the knuckle
