1991 Suzuki Swift Radiator
Technical sources confirm a radiator is fitted and essential on the 1991 Suzuki Swift. The Suzuki Swift/Geo Metro Factory Service Manual (1989–1994, G10/G13 series) describes a pressurised, liquid-cooled system with an aluminium crossflow radiator and engine-driven or electric fan. Gregory’s Service & Repair Manual for Suzuki Swift 1989–1997 and the Haynes manual for Swift/Metro also specify coolant capacities, bleeding steps, and radiator service, and the Suzuki EPC lists radiator assemblies for the G10 and G13 engines. So yes — a radiator absolutely applies to the 1991 Swift.
The radiator’s job is straightforward: it sheds the engine’s heat so the little Swift can run happily in Aussie and Kiwi conditions, from city traffic to long, hot highways. Coolant flows from the engine to the radiator, where airflow and the fan pull heat out before sending it back through the block. On automatic models, the radiator also houses a small transmission fluid cooler in the end tank.
For servicing, fresh coolant matters. Use an ethylene glycol, inorganic additive (green) coolant mixed 50/50 with demineralised water unless the manual or label says otherwise. Most owners stick to a 2-year or 40,000 km interval. Old coolant loses corrosion protection, which can chew out the alloy core and plastic tanks.
