How To Install a Car Sunshade

A Sunshade helps reduce UV breakdown on your cars dash and steering wheel. It also stops it getting too hot to touch on a sunny summer's day. Depending how your car is parked it also protects the front seats.

Installing a sunshade is super simple, though there are a few things you'll want to do to make sure it's in place correctly.

Sunshades have a printed or logo side and a silver side as well as a U-shaped notch in the top of them to go around the rear view mirror. They go on the inside of the windscreen with the printed or logo side facing outwards. In this case I put a slit in this part, so the shade fitted better around the mirror as this older model car has a shorter windscreen.

Step By Step for Installing a sunshade

1

The first step is to unfold the new shade. Take note of where the creases are so that you can fold it up the same way when you want to pack it away.

2

With the logo side facing outwards, push the bottom of the sunshade hard against the dashboard where it meets the bottom of the windscreen.

3

Fit the U shape notch under the rear vision mirror.

4

Using the car's interior sunshade, flip it downward towards the windscreen so it holds the top of the sunshade in place.

Repeat this process on the other side of the vehicle. The sunshade should now be held in place by the windscreen and dashboard at the bottom and by the cars interior sun shade at the top
