To ensure the correct tow ball fit for your towing solution, there are a number of different sized tow balls to choose from, 50mm and 1-7/8", tow ball threads or shank sizes and holes sizes in hitches.

It is also important to ensure the following points are followed for safe and secure towing:

• The tow ball size on the tow ball must match the coupling size. Sizes will be stamped on both the coupling and the tow ball
• The thread size for the tow ball matches the hole size on the hitch. It is best to measure to make sure you have the correct size
• The capacity of the lowest rated item (tow ball, tow bar or hitch) must be used as the maximum towing capacity
• Fitting tow balls or hitches that are not matched with other components can compromise towing safety with trailers potentially detaching.
