Product Details
Recovery boards are an essential when it comes to 4x4 accessories so that you are able to recover yourself without relying on anyone else. Offering three different recovery track models means Exitrax have your vehicle covered, and being built around the same design principle, featuring all of the key features which make this product the next generation in single-vehicle recovery, you can hit the tracks with confidence. The 930 Series come in at 930mm long making them appropriate for smaller 4x4s or even AWD cars and SUVs when heading off the beaten track. Also available are the 1110 Series, measuring at 1110mm long and are suited to medium vehicles that see the trails often. These feature extra angled cleats to increase traction even further than the entry-level track. Finally we have the big-boy 1150 Ultimate series, designed with consideration for serious trail-junkies with larger setups and heavy rigs. The Ultimate tracks have the addition of relief channels behind the added cleats to disperse mud and sand away from the tyre treads so you have the best chance of getting back on track. Also compatible with the Ultimate Series is the Exitrax Exilink system. If your mates have a set of Exitrax Ultimates too, you can link the tracks together and have traction for over 2 meters. The Exilink can also be used to spread the weight of your vehicle when trying to use a hi-lift jack on soft surfaces. These tracks have provisions to be mounted on roof racks with popular recovery board mounting systems, such as Exitrax's own storage solution designed to mount to your spare wheel for when they're covered in mud or sand.
Still unsure of the process for single vehicle recovery? Here are some handy tips before you head into the wilderness:
- Relax! Getting stuck is all part of the fun
- Inverted, your recovery tracks double up as a shovel, remove excess obstruction from in-front of the tyre
- Wedge the tracks in that gap you created in the previous step
- Tie on your exitrax leashes so you don't have to go digging once they're buried in the sand or mud
- As slow as possible and fast is necessary is the key here, try to creep up the recovery tracks and maintain momentum once you're off them
- If you get stuck again instantly, repeat the process until you're clear
