Filter Service Kits - All the parts you need

If you service your own car a Filter Service Kit takes all the worry out of making sure you have everything you need. Just add the correct oil for your vehicle and away you go. It is that simple. The Filter Service Kit products will vary slightly from vehicle to vehicle as it depends on what the manufacturer recommends needs servicing.

It is also better priced than if you bought all the parts individually. It is like a physical check list of all the items that need to be changed. You methodically work through it until your line up of new parts turns into a line up of old parts.

What is in a Filter Service Kit?

In the kit you can usually get:

  • 1 x Air Filter
  • 1 x Cabin Filter
  • 1 x Oil Filter
  • 1 x Fuel Filter (If a diesel engine)
  • Some have:

  • Sump plug or sump plug washer
  • Funnel and a pair of disposal gloves
  • Available in 2 great brands, Repco and Ryco they are unfortunately not available for every vehicle. Well worth looking into next time you need to service your pride and joy.

Most filters can be changed using simple hand tools. The oil and fuel filters may need special removing tools. Repco can help you out if you do not have them. Don't worry, as unlike some special tools they are usually well under the $100 mark. If you are intending to keep and service your car for a number of years, they are a worthwhile investment.
